Stephanie Sickler

Stephanie Sickler is an associate professor at Florida State University, where she is responsible for developing the first-year curriculum for interior design students. Her research and creative work focus on materials education, design pedagogy and the intersection of the senses and space. She is Past President of the Interior Design Educators Council, the author of Soft Goods Guidebook for Interiors (Fairchild, 2019) and co-curator of Materials Box (Fairchild, 2026). Sickler also co-authors Delve Magazine’s “The Professor Is In: Materials Education” column. Her work has been presented and published at national and international conferences and in peer-reviewed journals. She is also the owner of Chrysalis Fabrics, a boutique fabric and fabrication establishment that brings custom soft goods to life, connecting her academic work with professional design practice.
