The Green Chair Project, a Raleigh-based nonprofit, helps families in Wake County rebuild their lives after homelessness, crisis, or disaster by providing essential furnishings and home goods that transform empty spaces into safe, stable, and welcoming homes. Since 2010, the organization has brought dignity, comfort, and hope to thousands of families.

In 2022 alone, The Green Chair Project:

  • Supplied 1,687 children with beds and cribs

  • Furnished 1,296 households with essential items

  • Partnered with more than 100 schools, nonprofits, and community agencies across Wake County

“We are honored to be named the official charity partner for IWCE 2026. This incredible partnership allows us to share The Green Chair Project’s mission with a broader audience and extend our reach to even more families in need. Together with the IWCE community, we can provide the furnishings and resources that offer children and families not just comfort and stability, but a true place to call home.” – Rae Marie Czuhai, CEO of The Green Chair Project

The Artisan Atelier at IWCE is a hands-on learning hub featuring two days of expert-led sessions, live demonstrations, and window treatment vignettes showcasing the artistry of leading workrooms and designers. For IWCE 2026, these one-of-a-kind displays, crafted with donated materials from industry partners and select pieces from Atelier instructors, will be given to families served by The Green Chair Project.

Throughout IWCE 2026, attendees, exhibitors, and partners will have opportunities to engage with The Green Chair Project’s mission, participate in giving initiatives, and support programs that make a direct impact on families in the Raleigh community.
